This page sets out the details of how you can buy direct from us through this web site.
We explain here the legally required pre-contractual information, cancellation rights, contract terms and conditions. Before ordering from any on-line seller, you are advised to obtain a durable copy of such information, along with full contact details, in accordance with the U.K. Distance Selling Regulations. The bottom line is that we want you to be completely delighted with our products and service, and we will work to rectify any problems.
Cart Operation
PayPal Payments
We are able to offer on-line web shopping through the independent services of PayPal. Essentially, PayPal operates like a bank on-line - they are the market leading Payment Services Provider. We do not offer other methods of payment for shopping through this site, but our traditional shop outlets will be able to assist you if you require other services.
You do not need to register with PayPal to make one-off payments, just a working email address and typically a credit card. However, by signing up with PayPal as a member you only need to enter your personal details once to gain access to a large number of web shopping facilities. Your payment details will be entered directly in to a PayPal encrypted (https) web page. Sellers are never given credit card numbers, making it the most secure way to pay. You must be over 18 years of age to open a PayPal account.
There are no charges to you the buyer associated with making payments through PayPal. All major credit cards and electronic cheques are accepted. For each payment transaction that you make, an email confirmation will be sent to you with full details of the items purchased. The seller will also receive details of your order and shipping address by email, along with confirmation that PayPal has cleared your payment. Note that "eCheque" funded payments can take several weeks to clear.

Add To Cart
To purchase an item of interest, press the "Add To Cart" button. A separate window will open which then connects you to the PayPal web site and a view of your Shopping Cart.
A list of items that you have selected is presented, with details of the quantity and price.
You may alter the quantity for each item or simply return to our web pages to continue shopping for more items. You may close the new PayPal window to return to the Precision Labels pages - PayPal will remember what you selected.
When you have selected all of the items that you wish to purchase in one order, check the contents of the Cart and press the "Checkout" button on the PayPal window to begin the payment process. If you have already registered a PayPal account, you only need to enter your password to complete the transaction.
If you have never used PayPal before, you'll be asked for all necessary payment details and given the option to open an account. All of the information you enter is encrypted and transmitted only to PayPal.
If you are unable to complete your order in one session, note that your Shopping Cart selections are stored in "Cookies", so you will be able to return to the site later and complete the order then. Note that the PayPal website can sometimes be temporarily unavailable for maintenance reasons, which can result in error messages when you come to "Checkout" - simply try again later.
View Cart
The "View Cart" button also opens the window on the PayPal Shopping Cart, showing all of the items so far selected for purchase.
The table of the Shopping Cart view shows the prices of items in Pounds Sterling, regardless of your local currency settings.
You may also "Checkout" from the "View Cart" screen - handy if you are returning to the site after a pause in the middle of entering an order.
Shipping
For labels and decals to be sent anywhere, and for small 3D models shipped within the U.K., we apply a flat rate fee of £1.75 per order, to cover postage, packing and payment handling costs, regardless of the destination, number of items, size, etc.. However, certain heavier items from our marketplace, such as completed models and model parts that we sell, as well as the glass framed picture prints (items F1 or F2), require additional shipping charges as noted in those item description pages. We cannot offer automatic combined order shipment discounts. If you place multiple orders that can be shipped together with a postage saving, we will perhaps include an additional item, or manually refund additional shipping charges.
PayPal will send a receipt for your payment as soon as it is made, with details confirming the order. We do not normally send any further confirmation or notice of shipping emails. While most forms of payment are cleared immediately, "eCheque" payments can take several weeks. Once we receive email confirmation from PayPal of a cleared payment, we can process your order and despatch the required goods to the shipping address that you specified with PayPal.
The time from placing an order to taking delivery will vary, but we aim to always complete the process in less than 28 days. Typically it takes less than a week for U.K. deliveries. Deliveries abroad can of course take longer in the mail or be delayed by Customs checks. We will send an email if an order is likely to be delayed, for whatever reason, to notify you of an expected later shipment date. For example, sometimes we may temporarily run out of stock on components required in an order.
If you are a U.K. customer and have not received your order or notification of any delay within 14 days of a cleared payment, please Contact Us using the button at the bottom of the page. Where it is believed an order has been lost in the post, replacements will be despatched immediately. Whilst the sender compensation claim process is painful, we'll make sure you don't lose out if our carrier fouls up and will ensure you get your order as quickly as possible.
We ship using Royal Mail services for most items. For U.K. orders we use standard "Second Class" post and often obtain a Certificate of Posting. For heavier items like completed models we use the Evri (Hermes) U.K. Courier Service. Basic insurance against the loss or damage of a shipment is thus automatically provided for by the carrier. Within the U.K., for high value consignments, we will use "Recorded Delivery" - which just means deliveries will need to be signed for on arrival and traced if required. In our experience there are no faster delivery services, but if you want an officially guaranteed "Next-Day Special Delivery" at extra cost with any order, please Contact Us to arrange this.
For most orders outside of the U.K. we ship as "International Standard" air mail with the same flat rate P&P charge as for our U.K. orders. However some item pages, for the larger or heavier items than our typical decals or labels, have a note in them asking you to contact us for a special price quote for international shipping. If you place an order without asking first, we will send you an additional payment link for the difference in postage.
For many enterprises there are no practical alternatives to using Royal Mail for deliveries. In the spirit of historic companies like British Leyland, Royal Mail has suffered from industrial in-action. Winter weather conditions regularly result in longer the usual shipping times - always ensure you order well in advance for Christmas presents for example. Recently COVID infections have caused staff shortages and delays to some deliveries.

Taxes - VAT
No Value Added Tax (VAT or Sales Tax) is charged on orders placed direct with us. We are not required to be registered for VAT. However, our shop stockists are registered for VAT and that tax will be included in the price they will charge - the U.K. rate of VAT varies: 17.5% during 2010, 20% from January 4th 2011.
This means that customers abroad will not be able to reclaim VAT from direct orders with us - whereas that is possible when ordering through our stockists.
Customers outside of the U.K. should place orders with our stockists, and not through this web-site, if they wish to reduce their total payment by reclaiming taxes.
Were there to be any problem with an order that was placed directly with us through this web site, please contact us within 60 days.

We will replace free of charge, or refund the original payment including postage for, any damaged items, upon either the physical return of the affected components or receipt of an email with attached photographic evidence showing the damage, no matter what the cause.
We can offer a refund for any packs sold through this site that are returned unwanted, provided that they are in a saleable condition on receipt. ("Sale or Return" or "Order Cancellation" does not apply to our stockists, who order from us through a different business to business process.)

We operate under the U.K. legal system. Even if you are ordering from outside the U.K., U.K. law will be applicable. We are not a registered company, this site is operated by John R. Peck as a self-employed sole trader, based in Chester, U.K.. You can also buy our products through traditional shop outlets (listed on the home page) - those are otherwise unrelated and independent companies.
There are no relevant trade bodies or organisations with which we or similar suppliers of modelling products can register. We do however submit our wares for review in the trade press on a regular basis - see the "Public Review" feature article from the home page.
The full description and recommended retail price of each item we sell appears in the individual fixed item ordering pages. Other than the per-order Shipping fee described above, there are no other additional charges or taxes when placing an order direct on-line.
When you make payment for your order, that constitutes the commencement of a contract to then supply the goods ordered. For custom orders for which special item order payment will be arranged, we will not ask for your payment until the work to produce it can be completed within 15 working days.
You have the legal right to completely cancel an on-line order at any time up to 7 working days from delivery of the goods. Please use the Contact Us button to notify us of a cancellation, to arrange a return of any items delivered and a full refund of your original payment, including the shipping fee. Any return postage of items will be at your own expense and we shall not be liable for any losses that may occur in return posting - please ensure that you insure, as we do for out-bound shipments.
To comply with U.K. "Distance Selling Regulations", as published by the "Office Of Fair Trading", all on-line sellers must provide customers with a "durable" copy of their ordering terms and conditions, including contact details with a geographic address. Details published in a web site alone, although most easily accessed, can be changed and are thus not deemed suitable in law. An email, which can be retained by both parties, is however considered an appropriate way to communicate such pre-contractual information.
