At a cost of over £3 million per locomotive, 46 Class 92 engines were produced between 1993 and 1996. At first they operated only through the Channel Tunnel between Dollands Moor and Calais Fretun. Certification was later granted for locos to operate between North London and the Channel Tunnel, over northern sections of the East Coast Main Line and the entire West Coast route. The locos draw power from either a 25kV AC overhead power supply or, with reduced traction output, from the former Southern Region 750V DC third rail system. Signalling and control systems permit operation with modern EuroTunnel and SNCF systems. However, operation in France is restricted to the terminal at Calais.
All of the engines were initially painted in railfreight grey livery and officially allocated to the Crewe Electric depot, with diamond plates fitted to the right-hand end cab side. The left-hand end cab sides were branded with the original owner's logo. Cut maroon vinyl lettering was initially used to apply names to all but 92031. Later some engines, including 92031, were to receive cast nameplates. 92001 and 92031 have been the only engines re-painted in the EWS maroon scheme with "Beasties" logo replacing the diamond plates. Some other engines have had large yellow vinyl EWS logo stickers applied to the sides. 92038 was the first of the former SNCF branded engines to get the latest "Euro Porte 2" logos. 92001 now bears a unique style of white vinyl lettering for the "Victor Hugo" name.

Here we present the details that you will need to re-name, re-number and change the owning logos on a Class 92 model - either Lima or Hornby versions:
- Numbers for side and nose,
- Name lettering,
- Cab side owner logos - BR Arrows in mirror chrome - EPS logo in metallic silver.
In addition to "César Franck" shown above, the other two names with accents were "Saint Saëns" and "Molière" - details we naturally reproduce in model form.
We do not include EWS "Beastie" logos, as added to several engines in the form of large yellow vinyl squares, or in smaller format on the cab ends of 92001 and 92031 in standard EWS maroon livery. Those logo decals are readily available from Fox Transfers if required - see pack F4977/8:

If you are doing a full re-paint of a model, or just want to further enhance the appearance, you will want the Crewe eagle diamond depot plaques for the right-hand end cab sides and the round cast tunnel logos. Fox Transfers make depot plate etchings as code FEPMP05. The tunnel logos are available from Hurst Models as etching pack LDP006, which also includes a set of cast BR Arrows.
For your new engine identity, simply select the name, number and brand you would like from the table below - a list of all of the real engine details. The final option in the table allows for any other custom combination. Then press "Add To Cart" at the bottom of the page to place your order:
You can create a name for any engine number that you wish, just enter your choice of number and the exact name lettering that you would like in the boxes above. Each character of the name will be printed in the case given (real names were all capitalised lower-case) in the font style and spacing of the real names. If you select "Maroon EWS" for the brand identity, the name will be supplied in white, together with maroon numbers and letters - we do not supply the licensed beasties. For the other brands, as applied to the grey livery, names are maroon with black numbers and the selected logos, like those shown above. When you are happy with the selection entered above, click on "Add To Cart" below to purchase the desired decals. For each additional set of names, re-select and "Add To Cart" again. Each decal set costs £11.99.
